Längst ist die Band weit über ihre Heimat hinaus bekannt, sie haben bereits mit DRAGONFORE getourt, mit HELLOWEEN, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY oder KORPIKLAANI. Mir ist schleierhaft, wie KORPIKLAANI auf die Idee gekommen sind, diese Jungs als Support anzuheuern – nach der Vorband kriegen die Humpta-Folk-Metaller doch keinen Fuss mehr auf den Boden. SILENT KNIGHT sind mit ihrer Mischung aus Power- und Thrashmetal eine Urgewalt, hinterlassen verbrannte Erde, wo immer sie auftreten.
Die Band macht die Welt seit 2009 unsicher und hat bisher zwei Volllänger veröffentlicht – „Full Force“ ist ihr drittes Album-Machwerk.

Wie es klingt? Auf jeden Fall schnell, und hart, und powervoll, und schnell. Sorry, das habe ich ja schon einmal gesagt – es stimmt aber auch, denn die Jungs spielen doppelt so schnell wie viele Genrekollegen. Kein Wunder, haben DRAGONFORCE diese Kapelle als Support gewählt. Ganz ehrlich? Ich finde die Band spannender und abwechslungsreicher – ebenfalls schnelle Soli mit zwei Stromrudern – aber nicht soviel Sologewichse wie die Briten. Zudem spielt Sänger Dan Brittain in einer anderen Kampfklasse als Marc Hudson. Klar, seine Stimme ist durchwegs hoch und schrill – aber ebenso kraftvoll und pervers energetisch. Der Junge haut die Töne so raus, dass sie sich direkt in deinen Eingeweiden einnisten und dort entweder Unheil oder Wohlgefühl erzeugen, je nachdem, ob man diesen Sound mag oder nicht.
Klar, auch ich wünsche mir bei solchen Alben ab und an ein wenig Ruhe zum Durchatmen – aber Balladen ist hier einfach nicht, hat keinen Platz. Warum Powermetaller selten bis nie Balladen spielen? weil sie es nicht nötig haben, Punkt.
Man könnte höchstens bemängeln, dass die Songs sich sehr ähnlich sind – genretypisch quasi. Ein Stück weit sehe ich das ähnlich, obwohl auf diesem Album durchaus Tracks hervorstechen – beispielsweise „Screaming Eagle“ oder „Full Fore“, der hält, was er verspricht – volle Kanne vorwärts und mitten in die Fresse!

Fazit

SILENT KNIGHT kennen keine Gnade, hauen mit „Full Force“ ein weiteres Harteisen raus, das sich gewaschen hat. The band has long been known far beyond their homeland, they have already toured with DRAGONFORE, with HELLOWEEN, BLACK LABEL SOCIETY or KORPIKLAANI. It’s a mystery to me how KORPIKLAANI got the idea to hire these guys as support – after the opening band the Humpta-Folk-Metallers can’t get a foot on the ground anymore. SILENT KNIGHT are an elemental force with their mixture of power and thrash metal, leaving scorched earth wherever they perform.
The band has been making the world unsafe since 2009 and has released two full-lengths so far – „Full Force“ is their third album powerhouse.

How it sounds? Definitely fast, and hard, and powerful, and fast. Sorry, I’ve said that before – but it’s true, because these guys play twice as fast as many genre colleagues. No wonder, DRAGONFORCE chose this band as support. Honestly? I find the band more exciting and varied – also fast solos with two power oars – but not as much solo wanking as the Brits. Moreover, singer Dan Brittain plays in a different fighting class than Marc Hudson. Sure, his voice is consistently high and shrill – but equally powerful and perversely energetic. The kid pounds out the tones in such a way that they settle right into your guts and create either doom or feel-good there, depending on whether you like that sound or not.
Sure, I too wish for a little peace and quiet to breathe from time to time with albums like this – but ballads just isn’t here, has no place. Why power metallers rarely to never play ballads? because they don’t need it, period.
The most you could criticize is that the songs are very similar – genre-typical, so to speak. To some extent I see it similarly, although on this album quite tracks stand out – for example „Screaming Eagle“ or „Full Fore“, which keeps what it promises – full speed ahead and right in the face!

Conclusion

SILENT KNIGHT know no mercy, banging out another hard-hitting album with „Full Force“. These guys are not for the faint of heart, their music belongs in any reasonably serious collection of hard music. So buy and best pre-order now https://orcd.co/silentknight!
