SHUULAK – „Citrinitas“

„Die Band setzt ihr Streben nach alchemistischer Aufklärung mit der Veröffentlichung von „Citrinitas“ fort.“
Diese Aussage des Labels zeigt eine Besonderheit der Band auf; sie sind tief verwurzelt im Bereich der Alchimie – wobei nicht ganz klar wird, ob sie zur Jungschen Ausprägung gehören oder eher zur goldmachenden 😉
Was die Holländer aber auf jeden Fall irre gut können, ist Heavy Metal – fadengerade, ungeschönt und mit voller Wucht in die Magengrube – ein Hörerlebnis! Einzig schade; es ist nur eine EP…

This statement of the label shows a peculiarity of the band; they are deeply rooted in the field of alchemy – although it’s not quite clear whether they belong to the Jungian or more to the gold-making 😉
But what the Dutch are really good at is Heavy Metal – straight as a die, unembellished and with full force into the pit of the stomach – a listening experience! Only a pity; it’s only an EP…

MODERN DAY HEROES – „Thirteen“

Die MODERN DAY HEROES sind ein Rocktrio, das seit dreizehn Jahren gemeinsam unterwegs ist – und darum ihr neuen Album „Thirteen“ nennen – auch eine Möglichkeit.
Die Scheibe selber ist guter, „alter“ Rock – ohne Schnörkel und mit viel Power, man hört den Jungs die Spielfreude an. Besonders auf dem Album – der Track „Fire Me Up“ ist die Mannschaftshymne des Schlittschuhclubs aus ihrem Heimatort – geschrieben anlässlich des Aufstiegs der Jungs in die „my Sports“-League – warum auch immer diese Liga so heisst, eigentlich ist das nämlich einfach die höchste Liga der Amateur-Hockeymannschaften.
Ebenfalls meisterlich ist das ALbum der Jungs, das übrigens nicht nur 13, sondern gleich 18 Tracks feinsten old school-Rock’n’Roll bietet – reinhören lohnt sich definitiv!

The MODERN DAY HEROES are a rock trio who have been on the road together for thirteen years – and therefore call their new album „Thirteen“ – also a possibility.
The record itself is good, „old“ rock – without frills and with a lot of power, you can hear the guys‘ joy of playing. Especially on the album – the track „Fire Me Up“ is the team anthem of the ice skating club from their hometown Lyss – written on the occasion of the ascent of the guys into the „my Sports“-League – whatever the name of this league is, it’s simply the highest league of the amateur hockey teams.
The boys‘ album is also masterful, offering not only 13, but 18 tracks of the finest old school rock’n’roll – it’s definitely worth listening to!
