Scarred is a death metal group from Luxembourg formed in 2003 that currently consists of Laurent Kessel on drums, Jeff Jonas on bass, Diogo Bastos on guitar and backing vocals, Bertrand Pinna on the other guitar and Sacha Breuer on vocals.

Initially they started out as a thrash metal project, a sound that was undeniably evident on their first EP “Inner Scars” from 2004. However, throughout the years and following several line-up changes, Scarred evolved towards a heavier and more brutal sound that now leans on death metal.

In 2009, they unleash their first full-length album “New Filth Order”, which garnered much critical acclaim and allowed the group to share the stage with major artists, including some important appearances at Wacken Open Air in Germany and Metalcamp in Slovenia.

Now, four years on from their first album, Scarred are finally ready to launch their next ferocious assault on the metal world with “Gaia-Medea”. Mixed and mastered by Jochem Jacobs (Textures) at Split Second Sound Studio and featuring a guest solo by Attila Vörös (Nevermore, Leander Rising), this new effort combines the heavy, chunky brutality of acts like Gojira with the technical dexterity of polyrhythmic juggernauts Meshuggah. The album boasts an incredible maturity in songwriting, not to mention that it reeks of dedication and intense, hard work, and will surely thrust Scarred into the spotlight as one of the most exciting death metal bands of the modern age, worth keeping an eye.
