Catapult Promotion freut sich, die Zusammenarbeit mit der Wiener Doom/Sludge/Stoner Band LOWBAU bekannt geben zu dürfen.
LOWBAU is a formation of experienced musicians, based in Vienna, Austria,and was formed in 2006. The response to their first release, a full-length demo,titled „The EP“ (2009), was very positive and established their name in the Austrian rock/metal underground. After some changes in the line-up, the band consolidated and entered a phase of intense song-writing. In 2012, the guys and girl entered the studio and recorded „A Darker Shade of Blues“.
The style presented on this album originates in music history, from the beginnings of blues to the times of rock to the masters of metal. Yet Lowbau takes it a step further. You will find heavily distorted guitars as well as harmonica and steel-guitars in their repertoire. Up-tempo rock´n´roll meets slow, crushing sludge and bitter-sweet acoustic melodies. The songs tell stories about individual fate and societal doom, but never without irony. „A Darker Shade of Blues“ is a soundtrack to the daily misery and to the pleasures of life.
