After releasing their debut EP “Metropolis†on Atropine Records (Year Of No Light, Sofy Major …) in 2010, Carne returns this year with their first full-length album “Ville Morgueâ€, which sees the duo from Lyon (France) refining their powerful collision of noise and sludge crusted with raw riffs and caustic vocals.
Most of the songs move along in a sludgy, abrasive pace with Carne delivering some nasty, slow-burning riffs and pounding drums, but some tunes also see the duo sliding into a full hammering of intense riffs and furious beats.
Recorded and mixed by Bruno Germain at Epicerie Moderne, and mastered by Franck Hueso at Mix’Em All studio, “Ville Morgue†is a surprising release that delivers the kind of ugly, vicious and noisy sludge that only bands like Buzzoven and Melvins are able to churn out.
