Madeleine Liljestam, Rikard Ekberg, Filip Stålberg und Jesper Sunnhagen, das sind die Mitglieder einer Band, die seit spätestens zwei Jahren nur einen Weg des Erfolges kennen – steil nach oben.

Zwar liegt das Debut der Schweden von ELEINE bereits einige Jahre zurück. Seit „Dancing In Hell“ reiten sie aber auf einer Erfolgswelle, der selbst Corona keinen Abbruch tun konnte.

Jetzt bringt die Kapelle ihr neuestes Machwerk „We Shall Remain“ auf den Markt und es muss sich weisen, ob der Titel Programm ist. Werden wir uns auch in einiger Zeit noch an dieses Album erinnern?
Kann der metallene Vierer die Erwartungen erfüllen, welche es seit dem letzten Album gibt? Haben sie sich musikalisch weiterentwickelt? Können Sie eine Schippe drauflegen, die Stärke des letzten Albums toppen?

Ich finde ja. „We Shall Remain“ ist ein Hammerbrett, der Sound vom ersten bis zum letzten Ton kräftig und druckvoll – Vorsicht bei basslastigen Kopfhörern oder Lautsprechern! Was Rikard und Madeleine hier gesangsmässig abliefern ist schon grosse Klasse. Ebenso tummeln sich auf der Scheibe einige ganz geilen Gitarrensoli, das Riffing ist mehr als solide. Insbesondere erfüllt die Band die Vorgaben des Genres – druckvoller Bass, hämmernde und treibende Drums, Riffwände aus Stahl und Clearvoices ebenso wie Growls.
Das Album ist wie aus einem Guss – no fillers – just killers quasi. Zwar fehlt mir der Überhit, der Track, der sich stark von den andern abhebt. Aber das ist der allgemein hohen Qualität der Tracks geschuldet. Am ehesten hätte der Titeltrack das Zeugs dazu.

Ein weitere Song sticht heraus; „War Das Alles“, eine deutsche Version, die Vertonung eines deutschen Gedichtes – beeindruckend!

Fazit

Zehn Tracks, aber lediglich 37 Minuten Spielzeit – ein kurzer Spass. Aber eben, ein Spass, eine Freude, eine musikalische Augenweide. Diese Band hat es verdient, auch die wirklich grossen Bühnen zu bespielen, grosse Säle auszuverkaufen und von ihrer Musik gut zu leben – also das Album kaufen!

It is true that the debut of the Swedes of ELEINE is already a few years back. But since „Dancing In Hell“ they are riding on a wave of success that even Corona couldn’t stop.

Now the band brings their latest work of art „We Shall Remain“ on the market and it remains to be seen whether the title is program. Will we still remember this album in some time?
Can the metal four-piece fulfill the expectations that have existed since the last album? Have they developed musically? Can they take it up a notch, top the strength of the last album?

I think so. „We Shall Remain“ is a hammer board, the sound from the first to the last note powerful and punchy – beware of bass-heavy headphones or speakers! What Rikard and Madeleine deliver here vocally is already great class. Likewise, there are some really cool guitar solos on the disc, the riffing is more than solid. In particular, the band meets the specifications of the genre – powerful bass, pounding and driving drums, riff walls of steel and clear voices as well as growls.
The album is like from one cast – no fillers – just killers quasi. Although I miss the overhit, the track that stands out strongly from the others. But this is due to the generally high quality of the tracks. Most likely the title track would have what it takes.

Conclusion

Ten tracks, but only 37 minutes playing time – a short fun. But just, a fun, a joy, a musical feast for the eyes. This band deserves to play the really big stages, sell out big halls and make a good living from their music – so buy the album!
