… ist ein Re-Issue des Originals aus dem Jahr 2013. Das Debut war damals der Nachfolger einer EP, die es gerade einmal in einer handgemachten Auflage von 30 Stück gab.
Eines ist klar, Musik, wie sie WOLCENSMEN machen, ist heute nciht mehr massentauglich. Früher gab es einmal Bands wie CLANNAD, welche ähnlichen Sound machten und durch die Robin Hood Serie „Robin Of Sherwood“ viel Beachtung fanden.
Die Lieder aus den Bergen sind mystisch, ruhig, teils gespenstisch, lassen alte Geschichten aufleben, in denen Wahrheit und Legenden sich vermischen. Es fällt leicht, sich bei dieser Musik zu entspannen, sich dunkle Wälder vorzustellen, in denen Zwerge und Elfen, Trolle und Drachen sich tummeln und meinetwegen auch Einhörner.
Unweigerlich tauchen Bilder von bewaldeten Hügeln vor dem inneren Auge auf, welche im Winter in Nebel getaucht werden, im Sommer einen Schleier aus Dunst tragen.
Einzelne Songs aus dem Album herauszulösen und als Anspieltipps zu bezeichnen, würde dem Album nicht gerecht. Jeder Track ist einzigartig, teilweise bestechen sie durch die Instrumentierung, teilweise durch die Gesänge, teilweise durch beides.
Fazit
„Songs From The Fyrgen“ ist kein Mainstream und wird kaum grosse Massen erreichen, obwohl es ein wunderbares Album ist. Dan Capp und seinen Mitmusikern ist ein Meisterwerk der Ruhe, der Romantik und der musikalischen Feinheit gelungen, welche es mehr als verdient hat, aus der Versenkung aufzutauchen.
Für mich ist es das interessanteste Album dieses Jahres, etwas Ähnliches habe ich schon sehr lange nicht mehr gehört.

„Songs From The Fyrgen“ is not mainstream and will hardly reach large masses, although it is a wonderful album. Dan Capp and his fellow musicians have succeeded in creating a masterpiece of calm, romance and musical subtlety, which more than deserves to emerge from the depths.
For me it’s the most interesting album of this year, I haven’t heard anything like it for a long time.
