TODAY IS THE DAY Releases “Sick Of Your Mouth†Video
After releasing the brand new surprise single “Sick Of Your Mouth†to fans last week via Noisey/Vice, futurist metal clan TODAY IS THE DAY now unloads an official video for the track and once again discharge it directly into the public.
Constructed specifically for the band’s headlining twentieth anniversary tour set to rip through the majority of the United States and Canada over the next six weeks, “Sick Of Your Mouth†surges with the intensity TODAY IS THE DAY has continually delivered for two decades, its pummeling percussion and angular riffage as always lead by founding frontman Steve Austin’s signature vocal style. Engineered, mixed, and mastered by Steve Austin and bassist Ryan Jones at Austin Enterprise — the birthplace of seminal recordings for Lamb of God, Converge, Deadguy and countless others over the past twenty years — the finished song was delivered to director David Hall of Handshake Inc. (Brutal Truth, Fuck The Facts, Maryland Deathfest movies, etc.) for the creation of its visual depiction, which now sets the track ablaze with Hall’s signature breakneck-paced and seizure-inducing intensity.
Fans also now have the option to purchase “Sick Of Your Mouth†digitally for only $1 via TODAY IS THE DAY’s Bandcamp.
The video’s release happens simultaneously with the start of the TODAY IS THE DAY’s vast North American tour, embarking out of Portland, Maine tonight, and carrying all the way through the middle of April. Support for the entire trek will be provided by both KEN Mode and Fight Amp, with Black Tusk, Keelhaul, Ringworm and more joining the mayhem regionally. The routing takes the tour into the heart of Texas for several performances at this year’s SXSW, including the official Tone Deaf Touring showcase on March 15th where TODAY IS THE DAY and KEN Mode will join Mondo Generator, Young Widows, The Gates of Slumber and headliners Orange Goblin for the most prevalent night of disorder of the trek.
Led by visionary frontman Steve Austin, TODAY IS THE DAY’s violent and psychedelic attack has received worldwide acclaim since their 1993 debut, Supernova. Nine studio albums have been released through Amphetamine Reptile, Relapse and others, the band’s ever-morphing lineup featuring notable musicians including Brann Dailor and Bill Kelliher, who would later go on to form Mastodon. The current lineup sees Austin flanked by drummer Curran Reynolds (Wetnurse) and bassist Ryan Jones (Wetnurse, Mutilation Rites). The band’s most recent Pain Is A Warning LP was issued by Blackmarket Activities in 2011, the Kurt Ballou-produced beast receiving critical acclaim worldwide.
