Based in Oporto – Portugal, black metal trio Scarificare have captured the classic, cold feel of ‘90s black metal with their 2010 debut album „Perpetual Decline“, which generated some highly positive reactions in the underground community.

Now in 2013, the band formed by ex-members of Serpent Lore and Wrath are back with a new full-length effort entitled “Postulado” that not only marks a significant progression from its predecessor but also displays a more defined production and more varied arrangements.

The compositions are still predominantly classic and raging black-metal, drawing influences from acts like Dissection, Taake and Nifelheim, but they also exhibit more variation in tempo and more experimentation in the vocal performance.

All of this makes of “Postulado” an interesting black metal record that doesn’t neglect the genre’s origins but also ventures outside the standard guidelines with stunning results.
