SOLE SYNDICATE sind Jonas Månsson – Guitars and Lead Vocals, Katja ”Cat” Rasila – Keyboards and Lead & Backing vocals, David ”Gus” Gustafsson – Bass and Backing Vocals und Alfredo „Fred“ Souza – Drums.
Die Band liefert auf ihrem Album Hookliner um Hookliner, einen episch komponierten Track nach dem anderen.
Man könnte auch sagen, das Mädel und die drei Jungs haben das Beste aus verschiedenen Welten zusammengebracht; die Epik und getragene Symphonität aus dem Hardrock der Achtziger Jahre und den modernen, aktuellen Heavy Metal mit leicht schwerer, dunkler Färbung. Das ist Musik für die Bühnen, egal ob kleine Clubs oder grosse Bühnen.
Nehmen wir als Beispiel den Titeltrack „The Reckoning“ – absolutes Hitpotenzial mit Radiotauglichkeit – zumindest auf ernst zu nehmenden Stationen, die nicht nur kastrierten Mainstreamsound spielen. Zugegeben, es gibt Passagen, da sind die Streicher etwas gar nahe am „Zuviel“ und lassen den Track beinahe kippen. Aber eben nur beinahe.
Dass sie auch härter können, zeigen sie bei „Heavy Is The Heart“. Und hier zeigt sich auch der Bezug zum Hardrock – dieses typische Keyboardriff zu Beginn. Sagt man bei Keyboards eigentlich auch Riff?
Eines muss man aber sagen – die Truppe gehört nicht zur härtesten Fraktion. Die meisten Tracks sind balladesk oder midtempo. Wer das nicht mag, dem wird auf dem Album etwas fehlen. Insbesondere, wenn man die Scheibe über gute Lautsprecher spielt, ist der Sound ausgesprochen intensiv und trotz der „fehlenden“ Geschwindigkeit sehr powervoll.
Fazit
Das Album ist definitiv etwas für den Fan von gutem Stadionrock oder -metal. Zu diesem Sound gehört Bombast, Pyro ohne Ende, Lichtwände, welche den getragenen Songs die richtige Stimmung verpassen.
Wer solch symphonische Mucke mag, sich gerne auf grosse Gefühle und ebensolchen Sound einlässt, ist hier richtig gut bedient – Kaufen!

On their album, the band delivers hook after hook, one epic track after another.
You could also say that the girl and the three boys have brought together the best of different worlds: the epic and solemn symphonic sound of 1980s hard rock and modern, contemporary heavy metal with a slightly heavier, darker tone. This is music for the stage, whether in small clubs or large venues.
Take the title track „The Reckoning“ as an example – it has absolute hit potential and is suitable for radio play, at least on serious stations that don’t just play castrated mainstream sounds. Admittedly, there are passages where the strings are a little too close to „too much“ and almost tip the track over the edge. But only almost.
They show that they can also go harder with „Heavy Is The Heart“. And here you can also hear the connection to hard rock – that typical keyboard riff at the beginning. Do you actually say „riff“ when it comes to keyboards?
One thing must be said, however – the band is not among the hardest. Most of the tracks are balladic or mid-tempo. Those who don’t like that will find something missing on the album. Especially when played on good speakers, the sound is extremely intense and, despite the „lack“ of speed, very powerful.
Conclusion
This album is definitely something for fans of good stadium rock or metal. This sound is accompanied by bombast, endless pyrotechnics and walls of light, which give the solemn songs the right atmosphere.
If you like symphonic music and enjoy big emotions and big sounds, this is the album for you – buy it!
