KING CREATURE mit „Set The World On Fire“

KING CREATURE veröffentlichen ihr neues Album „Set The World On Fire“ am 6. November.

Fazit

„Set The World On Fire“ ist ein Destillat aus verschiedenen, musikalischen Zugängen und ein Album, das eine gereifte Band repräsentiert, welche wohl auch zukünftig viel live unterwegs sein wird – wahrscheinlich auch bei grossen Festivals weiter oben auf der running order.

english version

KING CREATURE will release their new album „Set The World On Fire“ on November 6th. Reason enough to take a closer look at what the boys from Cornwall – Dave Kellaway (vocals and bass), Matt Karl Vincent (guitars), Jack Bassett (drums) and Dave Evans (guitar) have to offer.
For a long time KING CREATURE were mainly a live project, EP and albums were a long time coming, while the guys shared the stage with rock and metal heavyweights. Shortly before Corona the band also performed with PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS and accompanied DORO through the country. KING CREATURE definitely ring in the fat ones after seven rather lean years.

Set The World On Fire“ delivers eleven tracks, which God knows, need not hide. The guys feast their eyes on whimpering guitars and fast, hard sets as well as midtempo tracks or grunge power ballads – „Fear Of The Fool“ is a good example.
Musically the guys are not easy to classify. Fat metal riffs alternate with rocky, extended guitar solos, as mentioned above, borrowings from grunge soundscapes. The guys themselves describe the album as a step forward, a development since their first album – I can confirm that. It seems that the pandemic has given them the time to let the project mature in peace. The result is an exciting album of high quality. We can be curious how the band will develop further.

Conclusion

„Set The World On Fire“ is a distillate of different musical approaches and an album that represents a mature band that will probably continue to be on the road a lot in the future – probably also at big festivals further up on the running order.
