Diese Verzögerung ist schade, sonst hätte ich schon viel früher über dieses Album geschrieben. ECLIPSE bestehen aus Erik Mårtensson (Vocals, Guitars), Magnus Henriksson (Guitars), Magnus Ulfstedt (Bass) sowie Philip Crusner (Drums).
Das Quartett ist bereits seit 1999 unterwegs und erstaunlicherweise haben die Jungs erst diesen Sommer ihr Debut auf WACKEN gegeben. Erstaunlich? Jepp, weil die Band seit ihrem Bestehen eigentlich nur guten Sound in der Welt verbreitet hat.
So wäre es eigentlich selbstverständlich gewesen, die sympathischen Schweden schon viel früher auf einer Stage im Holy Ground auftreten zu lassen.
Mit „Paradigm“ werfen die Jungs bereits ihr achtes Album auf den Markt – und bestätigen ihre absolute Klasse. Ein perfekt arrangiertes Album, abwechslungsreiche Songs, getrieben von Henrikssons Gitarrenkünsten und der charismatischen Stimme eines Erik Mårtensson.
So sehr ich auch gesucht habe, auf dem Album fand ich keinen Song, der vom Gesamteindruck abfällt. Da gibt es Hymnen wie „United“, die Powerballaden „Shelter Me“ oder „The Masquerade“, das Brett „Delirious“ oder der Über-Hookliner „Viva La Victoria“, der nicht erst seit Erscheinen des Albums in den Radios rauf und runter gespielt wird – den guten Radios natürlich.
Es tut richtig gut, wieder einmal ein richtig geiles Hardrock-Album anzuhören, auf dem eine Band einfach alles richtig gemacht hat. Eine Band zudem, welche sich in ihrer bisherigen Karriere nicht hat zuschulden kommen lassen.
Fazit
ECLIPSE sind für mich eine der besten Hardrockbands, welche sich auf diesem Planeten tummeln. Es mag bessere Sänger geben, geilere Gitarristen, eine härtere und präzisere Rhythmustruppe – ein Gesamtpaket wie die Schweden muss man jedoch lange suchen. Jetzt wäre es schön, wenn die Kapelle endlich die Anerkennung bekäme, die sie verdient – nicht nur am W:O:A.

With „Paradigm“ the guys are already throwing their eighth album onto the market – and confirming their absolute class. A perfectly arranged album, diversified songs, driven by Henriksson’s guitar skills and the charismatic voice of Erik Mårtensson.
No matter how much I was looking for it, I couldn’t find a song on the album that fell away from the overall impression. There are hymns like „United“, the power ballads „Shelter Me“ or „The Masquerade“, the board „Delirious“ or the over-hookliner „Viva La Victoria“, which is played up and down the radios not only since the release of the album – the good radios of course.
It’s really good to listen to a really horny hard rock album again, on which a band just did everything right. A band that hasn’t been to blame in their career so far.

ECLIPSE are for me one of the best Hardrockbands, which cavort on this planet. There may be better singers, hornier guitarists, a harder and more precise rhythm troupe – but you have to look for a package like the Swedes for a long time. Now it would be nice if the band finally got the recognition they deserve – not only at W:O:A.
