BEAST IN BLACK grüssen aus der Hölle

Kommenden Freitag liefern BEAST IN BLACK ihr zweites Album „From Hell With Love“ aus.

Was Yannis Papadopoulos hier demonstriert ist erste Sahne.

The Band

BIB are a kind of BATTLE BEAST. At least one of the most important exponents of the band has promoted the formation of this new band: Anton Kabanen was first the guitarist and creative head of BATTLE BEAST. He was heavily involved in the band’s final decision to go through the ceiling.
Kabanen also plays the leading role on guitar and vocals for BEAST IN BLACK. A very good grip of the band was also singer Yannis Papadopoulos, who is considered to be a woman at certain vocal passages. There are not many singers who sing as cleanly and precisely as he does in the highest vocal ranges. Kasperi Heikkinen plays the second guitar, Mate Molnar plays the bass and Atte Palokangas the drummer makes a lot of drums.

The Album

I can say right away – „From Hell With Love“ is the best power metal I’ve had on the table in the last few months. Kabanen and his band have clearly topped their predecessor „Berserker“. The new record is more mature and sophisticated, musically even more varied. The guys have found each other, have become one. „From Hell With Love“ is more than just good, is creatively and technically perfectly composed and recorded.
The two boards „Die By The Blade“ and „Sweet True Lies“ have already become known as singles and videos. „Sweet True Lies“ is the absolute hookliner, clear and catchy – the track will soon become the band’s live signature.

My favourite on the album is the ballad „Oceandeep“, something more beautiful I haven’t heard in a long time. The introduction with flutes reminds a bit of kitschy medieval tunes and gets a small deduction. What Yannis Papadopoulos demonstrates here is first class. Also the polyphonic parts convince with their melodiousness – simply outstanding. After almost three of the five minutes it becomes symphonic, powerful, the ballad goes through the ceiling – playing loud is not enough here. There the hut must tremble and your loudspeakers must moan starting from the intensity of this ballad – hammer!

Fulness

With „From Hell With Love“ BEAST IN BLACK have proven that they are no flash in the pan, that they belong on the big stages and especially that they are in no way inferior to BATTLE BEAST.
Their second album is a house number, a reference for what will come out of this genre in 2019.
Five out of five points have prevented the slightly kitschy and sometimes almost pop passages that appear here and there.
